Upcoming events with wildaboutexmoor
In the Summer months we celebrate our long Exmoor evenings with barbecues and candlelit lantern suppers in the most scenic spots on Exmoor, maybe taking in a little nightjar spotting at Nutcombe Bottom or searching for deer at dusk with sundowners at Dunkery Beacon.
All events are priced from £15 to £30 per head, for a minimum of 4 people, so maybe gather some friends and give us a ring, or join in one of our organised events.
An Unforgettable Exmoor Supper!
We offer Starry Sky walks in the winter, when the dark skies close in from 4pm onwards, and the Milky Way is at its best. A walk up onto the moor to enjoy our wonderful open skies is amply rewarded with mulled wine, cider or apple juice and a delicious home cooked roast dinner back at our farmhouse.
Summer Skies can be amazing, especially following a home made pimms and dinner al fresco. We can take a view whether to walk and picnic or to barbecue and enjoy the view from the garden….stars come out late on Exmoor Summer nights.
Maybe a little barbecued Moroccan lamb….Malcolm’s speciality, with mediterranean couscous followed by Exford blueberry pavlova …all locally sourced ingredients and downright delicious! A cheeky little red (or white or indeed pink!) wine just rounds off the evening nicely.
Exmoor Dark Skies
Join us for an evening of walking under the stars following the Exe Valley Way up on to the moor, finishing with a delicious home cooked roast dinner at our traditional Exmoor farm cottage.
This special evening can be booked for 4 to 8 people, and would make a great start to the Christmas season, a small office party, part of a hen or stag weekend.
£30 per head with complimentary drinks and starry information, plus the use of our telescopes and binoculars.
Please bring torches and stout footwear
Booking essential on 01643 831 759
The evening runs from 6pm until approx. 10.00pm
Half price for children, min age 10 years (unless by prior arrangement)
We look forward to seeing you!
All of our walks and events can be booked as a bespoke evening or day walk, so please phone if you would like to discuss a booking.
The Lorna Doone Experience
We are very pleased to be involved with the National Parks Initiative to provide our Lorna Doone Experience to an international audience, and this can also be booked for any group from 2 people up to a maximum of 12.
Come and join us for a walk along the Doone Valley, visiting the sites that inspired R.D.Blackmore to write his wonderful novel, and join us for a homemade picnic lunch at the very church where the dastardly Carver Doone took a shot at poor Lorna.
