Join us for a night walk up Dunkery Beacon
Easter Monday April 22nd
We meet at 8.00pm and hike up onto Dunkery, the highest point on Exmoor, as dusk falls, to be rewarded with a 360′ view of our wonderful Exmoor skies, and across to the Welsh coast.
As night falls I will talk you around the visible constellations and chat about the stars and planets, demonstrating the use of Apps to find your way around the sky.
We will walk back down to the cars for a hot drink and homemade snacks., and to use our telescopes to delve into deepest, darkest space. Hopefully we will be able to see other galaxies, ring nebulae, the moon craters etc, but of course cloud cover and the weather are outside of our control!
The night walk will go ahead unless it is raining, so we will need a contact number to send a text or email at 6pm that night. Often on Exmoor the clouds will suddenly clear to give fabulous views,so we don’t cancel very often.
